Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the storytelling method on the emotional intelligence of early childhood at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 11 Semarang. This research uses a quantitative approach and is an experimental research with a one group pre-test and post-test research design. The research subjects were all 20 children of TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 11 Semarang. Research data was taken through observation of children's behavior with research instruments in the form of observation sheets. Data analysis techniques were performed by comparing pre-test scores and post-test scores. The results of the study prove that the storytelling method has a significant effect on increasing children's emotional intelligence which includes self-awareness and a sense of responsibility for oneself and others. This is based on the results of the Wilcoxon test which shows asymp. sig<0.005. The magnitude of the increase of 24% can be seen from the difference in the pre-test score of 42% and the post-test score of 66%.

Abstrak

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode bercerita terhadap kecerdasan emosional anak usia dini di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 11 Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group pre-test and post-test. Subyek penelitian merupakan seluruh anak TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 11 Semarang yang berjumlah 20 anak. Data penelitian diambil melalui observasi terhadap perilaku anak dengan instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan membandingkan skor pre-test dan skor post-test. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa metode bercerita berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional anak yang meliputi kesadaran diri dan rasa tanggung jawab untuk diri sendiri dan orang lain. Hal tersebut didasarkan pada hasil uji Wilcoxon yang menunjukan asymp. sig <0.005. Besarnya peningkatan sebesar 24% dilihat dari selisih skor pre-test yaitu 42% dan skor post-test sebesar 66%.
