Abstract

Abstract

Play activities often have rules, but not all children understand these rules because they have not been able to overcome problems related to the thinking process. This is caused by the learning media used by children is less varied and children's ability to understand the rules of the game is still reduced. The media used is a game of snakes and ladders. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant effect of the snakes and ladders game on the problem solving ability of children aged 4-5 years. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a non-equivalent control group design. The study population was Group A of PGRI 68 Semarang Kindergarten. The sample taken from group A amounted to 30 children, control class 15 children and experimental class 15 children. Data were collected from observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that the t-test with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05. It is concluded that Ho is rejected, it is said that the effectiveness of the snakes and ladders game is effective on the problem solving ability of children aged 4-5 years at PGRI 68 Semarang Kindergarten.

Abstrak

Aktivitas bermain seringkali terdapat aturan, namun tidak semua anak memahami aturan tersebut karena belum mampu mengatasi masalah terkait proses berpikir. Disebabkan oleh  media pembelajaran yang digunakan anak kurang bervariasi dan kemampuan anak masih berkurang dalam memahami aturan permainan. Media yang digunakan permainan ular tangga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada permainan ular tangga terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah anak usia 4–5 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan  Quasi Eksperimen Design berbentuk Nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah kelompok A TK PGRI 68 Semarang. Sampel yang diambil dari kelompok A berjumlah 30 anak, kelas kontrol 15 anak dan kelas eksperimen 15 anak. Data diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa uji t dengan nilai Sig.(2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05. Disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak, dikatakan bahwa efektifitas permainan ular tangga efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK PGRI 68 Semarang.
